The joyous flight from the Lake City Pokhara to the windiest town of Nepal Jomsom and then further trekking takes the trekkers to the capital city Lomanthang. The name of this place resembles that the town is surrounded by the walls. The norther wall being the high Himalayas bordering the region and southern too with Himalayas. This place is also called as the Himal Paariko Gaun which means village beyond mountains. The festival is very vibrant and colorful. It is celebrated every year to mark the victory of good over evil. According to the mythology the demon threatened the people and valley to create catastrophe. The region was about to be doomed. Then the son of Demon Dorje Jono appeared for the rescue of the people. Mustang Tiji Festival Trek showcases the unique celebration technique of the Upper Mustang people. The great duel took place ultimately the demon was chased away restoring the peace in the Valley. This three days of festivals is celebrated in joyous manner as the monks from monasteries chants the prayers and colorfully dressed monks dance in the rhythm. Apart from this religious beliefs one can witness the plethora of wonders of Nature. The deepest gorge of the world Kaligandaki gorge and the iconic Muktinath temple too falls within the trail of this great festival trekking in Nepal.
